Professional Experience
Mike is passionate about his local community and happily returned to the Annapolis Valley after completing law school. He has settled in Kentville to continue develop his legal practice.
Originally from Greenwich, Mike completed both his undergraduate and legal education at Dalhousie University. He offers a client focused legal practice grounded in honesty and openness between he and his clients. While attending Dalhousie, he actively sought out and received extensive training in Alternative Dispute Resolutions and is confident in speaking with his clients about both traditional and non-traditional resolutions to their legal issues.
In his dispute resolution practice, Mike has appeared and argued before administrative boards and tribunals, and many levels of Court in Nova Scotia including: the Supreme Court of Nova Scotia, Supreme Court of Nova Scotia (Family Division), Provincial Criminal Court, Provincial Family Court, Small Claims Court of Nova Scotia and in Residential Tenancies proceedings.
Professional Activities & Affiliations
Mike is a member of the Canadian Bar Association, the Nova Scotia Barristers’ Society, and the Kings County Barristers’ Society. He is also the Vice President of the Electoral District Association for a local provincial political party and is an active donor to the Ecology Action Centre.
