Utility and Review Board

The Municipal Government Act (the "MGA") permits appeals to the Nova Scotia Utility and Review Board (the "Board") from decisions of municipal councils respecting land-use by-law amendments, rezonings and development agreements and from decisions of development officers refusing to issue development permits or to approve plans of subdivision.

Taylor MacLellan Cochrane has considerable experience representing parties before the Board, both municipalities and individuals.  That experience enables us to advise on the likelihood of succeeding in an appeal of a decision, and providing representation before the Board when an appeal proceeds.

Information about the Board is set out in their website, http://www.nsuarb.ca/
