Professional Experience

Jeff graduated from Acadia University with a Bachelor of Arts degree. After completion of his undergraduate degree at Acadia University, he relocated to Toronto, Ontario where he was employed as an insurance claims adjuster. He returned to Nova Scotia to work with Lindsay Morden Insurance Adjusters as an independent insurance adjuster. Jeff has completed studies through the Insurance Institute of Canada receiving certification as an Associate Lawyer with the Institute. Jeff received his Bachelor of Education degree from Acadia University in 1997. He is also a licensed teacher in the Province of Nova Scotia.

Jeff received his Bachelor of Laws degree from University of Windsor in 2001. While at Law School, Jeff participated in the 1999 Zuber Moot Competition, and in 2001 was a member of the 3rd place team in the International Niagara Moot Competition involving law schools from across Ontario and the United States. Jeff articled with the firm Boyne Clark in Dartmouth, and following his call to the Nova Scotia Bar in 2002, worked with that firm's personal injury and insurance litigation group. In 2004 Jeff returned with his family to the Annapolis Valley where he was employed with the law firm of Muttart, Tufts, DeWolfe & Coyle as an associate from 2004 to 2007. Jeff joined our firm as an associate in October 2007. Although he will be focusing on corporate/commercial law, he will also be practising in the areas of real estate, wills, probate, and personal injury.

Professional Activities & Affiliations

Jeff is a member of the Nova Scotia Barristers' Society, Canadian Bar Association, Rotary Club of New Minas Sunrise, and Eastern Kings Chamber of Commerce. Jeff is the Director of International Service for his Rotary Club and is a member of the Board of Directors for the Canadian Mental Health Association - Kings County Branch.

Personal Interests

Jeff enjoys sailing and drumming. He resides in Coldbrook with his wife, Catherine Metzger-Silver, and their daughter, Olivia.
