Professional Experience

Extensive training in the field of Alternate Dispute Resolution (ADR), Arbitration and Mediation, including courses at Harvard Law School.

Professional Activities & Affiliations

Jim is active in the fields of Mediation and Arbitration and serves for the Nova Scotia Barristers' Society as Chair of the Civil Mediation Roster Committee and is a consultant to Windsor Elms Citizens Home.

He served as Chair of the Nova Scotia Human Rights Commission from 1999 to 2004.

He served as Small Claims Court Adjudicator from 1994 to 1999 and as an arbitrator for the Canadian Motor Vehicle Arbitration Plan and volunteer arbitrator for the Better Business Bureau.
